The Tulip WECK Jar is so pretty. Great for so many uses, including feeding your starter and preparing levain.

We love WECK jars in the School House. They are glass on glass, super stylish and just the right size opening for preparing levain, feeding your sourdough and so much more. These jars have been popular all over Europe since the early 1900s. Made in Germany by Johann Weck who had a big part to play in the water-bath canning movement. WECK jars are strong and reliable; you will find many uses for them around your home.

Made in Germany, look for the embossed WECK strawberry logo. They are dishwasher safe and come in a wide array of sizes, styles and shapes. Each jar comes with a rubber seal and 2 clamps. 

3 Sizes

  • 1 Lt #745 - great for preparing levain
  • 1/2 Lt #744 - we use for storing our sourdough starter
  • 2-1/2 Lt #739 - for storing whole grains, flour varieties and "all the pretty things" in style

Important note: The “2.5 litre jars” are not heat resistant for canning, oven or boiling water. They are made for storage of flour, grains, other ingredients or just for decor.
